3rd Generation

I'm attempting to learn the Norwegian Table Prayer, to commit it to memory. My dad's father, the Norwegian of the family, repeats it before every meal. I think it's beautiful, and the last thing I want is to forget it.

I Jesu navn gar vi til bords
a spise, drikke pa ditt ord.
Deg, Gud til aere, oss til gavn,
Sa far vi mat i Jesu navn.
Amen.

In Jesus' name we go to the table
To eat and drink on His word.
To God the glory, to us the gifts,
So we have food in Jesus' name.
Amen.
